The Sunbittern

Chinese brush technic with two different shades of ink (sepia and siena, nothing else) on hot press water colour paper. About A4 in size.

I do!!! For a while, I only painted tiger as I had started a project with a friend of mine (have a look here: [link]), I needed something else. And I find birds so rewarding, I love their plumage, their expression, their colours. I'm sure I will draw different animals again at some point....

Absolutely gorgeous . . . You have taken this technique and nailed it, I'd say! The fine and exquisite detail on the bird is set so beautifully against the brushstroke-shaped plants, not to mention the warmth of the whole thing . . . Ungh, it works so well and is damn pretty besides!
