Malayan Peacock-Pheasant (Polyplectron malacense)

I tried to stick with a restricted colour palette, but wonder whether I got carried away too much? It was originally planned monochrome - maybe even pencil - with only the spots in colour. But halfway through I thought it's missing something, and in came sienna & yellow...

Acrylic ink, Chinese brushes on cold press Bockingford paper.

The suggester said: The elusive Malayan Peacock-Pheasant by *Heliocyan shows a beautiful use of the traditional and very old art form of ink use. The muted colours bring the contrast in the plumage of the bird nicely to life. As well, this work is a fine example that shows us that not every inch of the paper needs to be filled.
