African Wild Dogs!! I think they are rather overlooked when it comes to African wildlife art. I love their distinctive fur markings, in my eyes they really represent the colours of Africa. The composition is actually made up, I'm not a great fan of just copying one photo. I had a huge stack of great reference photos from a friend who just came back from a photo safari.
Acrylic on paper, it measures approx 45cm x 55cm (17.5″ x 22″).

The African wild dogs (also known as ‘painted dogs’) are carnivores native to the open areas of Sub-Sahahran Arica. It’s population is classed as endangered, it has disappeared from most of it’s original territorial range due to habitat loss and human interference. Like most canids, they are highly social animals and live in packs.
AMAZİNG artwork !
The local zoo had a litter of painted dog puppies a bit earlier this year, and this so reminds me of the video of their first release into the outdoor area.
I thought this was a photo at first when I saw the thumbnail... wow. Magnificent job! They're so expressive!
